The CodeCrack Method

Unfamiliar coding problems feel unpredictable when every solution looks like another trick to memorize. The CodeCrack Method instead teaches you a single problem solving framework that you can always apply to unfamiliar problems to make forward progress.

The Method has six steps:

  1. Understand the problem.
  2. Build a brute-force solution.
  3. Establish a lower bound.
  4. Look for overlapping sub-problems.
  5. Choose data structures that close the remaining gap.
  6. Repeat until the upper and lower bounds meet.

This course teaches each step. Watch the seven videos or read the written lessons. Both teach the same method, so you do not need to do both.

How the Method fits into CodeCrack

Every CodeCrack problem includes a written and video walkthrough that applies the CodeCrack Method, so you can learn how to solve the problem from scratch instead of just memorizing the solution. The Method is a reusable toolkit designed to train your reasoning and problem-solving skills.

You do not need to finish this course before solving problems or taking a mock interview. Start wherever your preparation is most useful, then use the Method when you want a structured way to improve your reasoning.
